Professor Nagy is Associate Professor of thermodynamics and natural gas engineering at Drilling, Oil and Gas Faculty at the AGH University of Science and Technology, Cracow, Poland. He graduated in Mining from AGH UST in Cracow (1984), received his PhD in 1988, associate professor in 2005. Professor Nagy is the chair of Gas Engineering Department and Deputy Dean of Drilling, Oil and Gas Faculty at AGH University of Science and Technology in Cracow. Professor Nagy is author or co-author of more than 180 publications, five in the books to his credit. Leader of numerous research grants, research projects, projects for industry and research activities. Professor Nagy’s research interests and main scientific activities include mining and geology engineering, gas engineering, thermodynamics of gas and oil, oil and gas engineering, geothermal resources, also the protection of the environment, numerical modelling of reservoirs, transmission and distribution of natural gas; carbon dioxide sequestration, politics and energy models. Leader of AGH team engaged in 7FP sequestration project “SiteChar" Leader of two scientific projects: EIT KIC-Innoenergy related to: 1/ CO2 sequestration in saline aquifers and 2/unconventional gas technology in Europe.

He graduated Drilling, Oil and Gas Faculty at University of Science and Technology in Cracow (AGH-UST). He is an assistant professor at the Faculty of Drilling, Oil and Gas Engineering Department. Director and co-author of many projects in the gas industry. He is an author and coauthor of a number of implementation work, expertise and opinions, and over 70 scientific publications, including books and manuals in the field of gas, and a promoter of approximately 250 engineering and MSc graduates. He is an expert of NOT in the field of Gas Engineering and Environmental Protection. Member of SITPNiG NOT, PZITS NOT and Polish Section of Society of Petroleum Engineers.

Prof. Dr Jakub Siemek is full professor of Reservoir and Gas Engineering on Drilling, Oil and Gas Faculty at AGH University of Science and Technology in Cracow. He is a member of Polish Academy of Sciences, Polish Academy of Arts, Doctor H.C. of following universities: Lucian BlagaUnivirsity of Sibiu, Silesian Technical University (Poland), Ivanofrankowsk University. He is editor in chief of Archives of Mining Sciences, also a member of several scientific associations and editorial boards. Author of numerous publications and papers on reservoir engineering, mathematical problems, modeling, petroleum and gas industry, energy politics (above 350 papers). Leader of numerous research grants and research activities. He is an author and co-author of over 150 unpublished studies for the industry in the operation of the orifice, gas, environmental engineering and environmental protection made for the industry. He graduated in mining at AGH UST in Cracow (1958) and in physics at the University of Poznan (1963), received his PhD in 1968, associate professor in 1979, full professor in 1990. Main directions of scientific activity of Professor Siemek are: physics and engineering, natural gas and crude oil, hydromechanics, hydromechanics and dynamics of gas in porous and fissured, and computerization of mathematical methods in natural gas and oil industry, gas flow in coal seams, transport and distribution of hydrocarbons, the flow of liquids in porous media, the issue of underground gas storage and carbon dioxide, energy policy and energy models.

Maciej Kaliski was born on March 2 nd, 1947. in Olsztyn. He is a graduate of the Drilling Faculty at AGH University of Science and Technology in Cracow (1970). In 1975 he defended his PhD thesis at the same faculty. After that in 1990, he received postdoctoral lecturing qualification in the field of mining and geology at Faculty of Mining and Geology of Silesian University of Technology. Between 1980 – 1985 he remained position of associated professor at Algerian Polytechnic. Simultaneously, he was lecturer at Institute of Earth Science of Algerian University. In 1989 – 2004 he was employed for CBR /Heidelberger Zement – Group acting management positions at branch offices of this capital group. Since 2007 he is professor of technical science. Since 2008 he was Director of Oil and Gas Department until June 15 th, 2010 when he became nominated to be Undersecretary of State in Ministry of Economy. He is responsible for energy sector in Ministry of Economy. In addition, he is also continuing his academicals lecturing at the Faculty of Oil and Gas Drilling at AGH University of Science and Technology in Cracow. Currently, he is Deputy Chair of the Natural Gas Engineering Department. Thanks to which he is constantly in touch with the science environment, as well as petroleum and gas sector. Additional, he is Member and Polish delegate of Management Council at the International Energy Forum and International Energy Agency. He is author and co-author of approximately 200 science articles, include 15 books and 8 patents in the field of technique, technology, economy and energy security.

Jarosław Ślizowski graduated from AGH University of Science and Technology, Krakow, Poland in 1981 with a Master’s degree in applied mathematics. In the same year he took a position as a specialist in rock salt geomechanics in the Research and Development Center for Mining of Chemical Raw Materials. Geomechanics of rock salt was also the main subject of his interest in further work places: from 1999 the Mineral and Energy Economy Research Institute, Polish Academy of Science, Krakow and from 2009 at the Faculty of Drilling, Oil and Gas of the Academy of Science and Technology. He is the holder of PhD and postdoctoral degree from the Faculty of Mining and Geoengineering, Academy of Science and Technology. Jarosław Ślizowski’s main scientific interests include:

-numerical methods in the stability assessment of salt caverns including natural gas, oil and fuels storage facilities,

- laboratory and in-situ testing of mechanical properties of rock salt

- geological structures (mainly rock salt) for the storage of high-level radioactive waste and spent nuclear fuel.

The most important research achievements of Jarosław Ślizowski were the development of computer code for stability calculations of natural gas storage caverns (co-author), the work on constitutive equation and strength criterion of rock salt and guidelines for rheological research of rock salt.

Dr. Czesław Rybicki is working as the lecturer at the Department of Gas Engineering in the Drilling, Oil and Gas Faculty at AGH UST in Cracow. He is dealing with teaching and scientific activity in the use and the storage of natural gas. He is giving lectures on objects: The exploitation of natural gas reservoir, Storages of natural gas, Flows of liquids in porous structures, Reservoir engineering, Well testing methods. In scientific activity he is doing research in the scope of:

- applying methods of mass balance in operation and for storage of gas in depleted reservoirs and salt caverns,
- filtration of compound liquids at conventional and unconventional rock structure,
- sequestration of the carbon dioxide,
- analyses of connected issues from exploitation of methane from coal beds,
- choice and analysis of hydrodynamic tests for examinations of gas wells made to conventional and unconventional reservoirs,
- analyses of problems connected with the natural gas production from shales.

Jacek Blicharski is Doctor of University of Science and Technology in Kraków. He is holder of MSc and PhD form University of Science and Technology (Drilling, Oil and Gas Faculty) in Kraków. Doctor Blicharski as a university teacher interests in oil and gas reservoir engineering, including gas reservoir exploitation, underground gas storage, fluid flow in porous media. His research area includes mainly reservoir engineering problems including gas mixing process in underground gas storages, carbon dioxide sequestration process connected w enhanced gas recovery form depleted gas reservoirs, gas reservoirs exploitation in various drive mechanisms. Dr Blicharski also takes place in many research projects for Polish Oil and Gas Industry. Currently he is leader of a research project financed by Polish National Research Center regarding CO2 sequestration in depleted gas reservoirs.

Rafał Smulski is senior researcher at AGH University of Science and Technology in Cracow. He is holder of MSc and PhD form AGH-University of Science and Technology (Drilling, Oil and Gas Faculty) in Cracow. He is a university teacher. Reasearch interests: natural gas transport, fluid flow measurements, gas engineering. He is author and coauthor of several papers. Presenty he is a head of Reservoir Engineering Laboratory. He is a member of SPE and SITPNiG. Since 2008 he is member of international research project related to geochemistry and gas and carbon storage.

Krystian Liszka Ph.D. graduated from Akademia Górniczo-Hutnicza im. Stanisława Staszica (AGH University of Science and Technology) in Krakow. He completed postgraduate studies in petroleum industry management at the Faculty of Oil and Natural Gas of the University and Pre-MBA studies at the Faculty of Management of University of Warsaw. In 2011, he completed Executive MBA programme run by GFKM (Gdansk Foundation for Management Development), validated by IAE Aix Graduate School of Management.

He has been involved in the gas industry since the beginning of his career. In 1998-2005, he worked for PGNiG S.A., Krakow Gas Distribution Company and then – for the Tarnow branch of Gas Transmission Operator. He has worked for Gas Transmission Operator GAZ-SYSTEM S.A. since 2005. His responsibilities include the operation of high-pressure gas transmission systems and the operation of gas pressure and measurement stations. As a member of the PKN (Polish Committee for Standardization), Technical Committee No. 227, sub-committee for gas transmission, he is also involved in developing standards for the gas industry.
